Vision
Every child growing up without a family has people who show up, celebrate them, teach them and remember their name.
About us
A few friends, a box of sweets and one children's home in Ahmedabad. We came back the next week, and the week after that. Saru is what grew from those Sundays.
The story we keep coming back to
Sudama was Krishna's childhood friend, and very poor. When he went to visit Krishna in Dwarka, all he could carry was a small bundle of poha, tied in a cloth. He was too shy to even offer it.
Krishna found it, opened it, and ate it with more joy than any feast in his palace. It was not the poha. It was the love it was given with.
That is Saru. We don't wait to have a lot. We share a small part of what we have today, and we give it with our whole heart.
Why we exist

Why "by Flute of the Soul"
Krishna's bansuri is a hollow reed. It has nothing of its own, and that is exactly why music can pass through it. Flute of the Soul is the name behind our work: we try to be hollow enough for kindness to pass through us, from the people who give to the children who receive.
Registered and accountable
