Saru Charitable Trustby Flute of the Soul

A handful shared becomes a smile.

We bring celebrations, learning and belonging to children who are growing up without a family. Not with grand gifts: just a small part of what each of us has today.

Sudama brought Krishna one handful of poha. It was received like a treasure.

સારું

Saru · simply, good

In Gujarati, saru is what you say when something feels right. That is all we want for every child we meet: a day that feels saru. A full plate, a lesson learned, a friend who stays, a reason to laugh.

What we learn together

Eight small values we practise with the children, one drawing at a time. Download any card and share it.

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन

karmaṇy-evādhikāras te mā phaleṣu kadācana

“Your right is to the work alone, never to its fruits.”

Bhagavad Gita 2.47

So we keep showing up. We don't count the smiles to be thanked. We count them so we can share more.

Upcoming drives

Come along, this Sunday

Pick a drive, pick a role. No experience needed, just a warm heart and two free hours.

No cape needed

Kindness is a superpower.

Teach a class, cook a meal, take photos, design a poster, drive the van, or simply sit and listen. Every role matters, and so does yours.

To keep every child safe, we share illustrations here instead of photos of the children.
